Love and Remembrance

Within this sorrow I beg you come
To the place where Love and Remembrance meet
To the world that swells in each our hearts
And memories mark a life complete

Where children grow in happy tones
Of innocence and care
And our children's children write the stories
Of the history we shared

The tales of Christmases spent together
Presents strewn about the floor
Grandpa with his bright red bow
And pink cookies behind the closet door

Where second helpings of Grandma's meal
Covered hands rather than the plate
But your defiance was soon forgiven
As was all of her children's fate

All the stories we shall share
Of her pride, her joy, her treasured family
The home from which we all have come
Each moment marked in adulation's history

For it is here within these walls
That no one is forgot
And we will teach our children's children
All the love that she has taught

Within this revelry I beg you come
To the place where Love and Remembrance flow
To the world that swells in each our hearts
And continues still to ever grow...
