Bent Words

November 16, 2004

I saw your steps and cobbled streets
I gazed upon your buildings bold
I sat at your brown baked cafes
And listened to your stories told

I stood upon your brilliant bridges
I watched your evening spark with light
I twirled within your wonder's hand
And held my breath with tower's night

I curled my fingers 'round your cup
I wrote upon your stony ledge
I smiled within your chilling grasp
And silenced my lips upon the edge

I heard your heros tell their tales
I drifted through their pictures hung
I wrapped my heart upon your world
And captured songs once left unsung

All in my lasting dreams and all I stand before
Until I see your steps and cobbled streets once more...
